Merijn Van Oijen
Merijn has been active in the Executive Search and Search and Selection industries since 2002. He started his career at a local Search and Selection firm, combining psychological testing and assessment with sector generalist search work. He soon moved to Spencer Stuart and subsequently to Korn/Ferry where he specialized in the Industrial, Technology and Financial sectors.
In 2007 he joined an AESC member firm in Sydney as a consultant in the Investment Banking practice. Towards the end of 2008 he moved to a large domestic Search and Selection firm in Amsterdam to head the development of their Executive Search division. Before joining Schelstraete Delacourt Associates he was senior consultant at another global executive search firm. Whilst successfully executing a broad variety of searches, his focus has been on CEO/CFO positions in Financial Services, Private Equity and the Industrial sector.
At a personal level, Merijn is an avid sports fan, in particular rowing. From 1994 to 2001, Merijn has been part of the Dutch national rowing team. As a coxswain, he competed at the Sydney Olympics and he is a former world record holder. He received his Master’s Degree from Utrecht University in organizational and sport psychology.
He is fluent in Dutch, English and German and has some knowledge of French, Spanish and Frisian.
